How does your media product represent particular social
groups?
In my media project, the social groups presented are of
stereotypes. The detectives used in the project white men that have power from
their job title and find ways to intimidate the character at the other side of
the desk. The detectives in this scene below are wearing smart/casual dark
coloured clothing, this is a stereotype of the dark presence of an interview by
officials.
The other stereotype
in this film is the of an alcoholic, with a calmer tone Jake Lestrade opens a
can of beer at the table suggesting he cannot help himself but turn to a drink
showing he is stuck in his ways. Also Lestrade is on his own in every shot
within the office implying the stereotype of an alcoholic being on their own in
deep space. This stereotype would continue through the current day scenes
throughout the film.
