Question 5

We attracted our target audience to best of our ability. This is something we did by primarily listening to the feedback we got from our questionnaire, and building our film around the positives. From the feedback, we established in greater detail who are target audience were, and made sure that any changes we made to the film would appeal to them.

From the feedback, we learnt that our film lacked a particular shocking moment, with one participant on the questionnaire commenting that "while the idea is interesting it doesn't really feature and stand-out moment that would get a viewer out of the seat". This led us to introducing a plot twist in our story. We came up with the idea that our main character, Jake Lestrade, would shoot the murderer in cold blood rather than arresting him. This change in the story garnered a good response from our peers, with one person saying "the twist of the detective shooting the murderer surprised me, i wasn't expecting that to happen".

A common occurrence among the feedback we received praised the mood and dark nature of our film. The majority of the responses on our questionnaire liked the sinister overtones of our story, and wanted this element focusing upon. Because this we included certain sound effects to build tension within the confrontation scene between Lestrade and the murderer. This was also praised in the feedback to the film - "the scene outdoors is very gripping and unpredictable, i really enjoyed it".

Overall i believe we have addressed the expectations of our target audience. As we isolated our target audience to males aged 18-30 after our questionnaire, the changes we made were to appeal to them only. Assessing the responses we got i believe that we succeeded in attracting our target audience.
