How did you attract/address your audience?
We carried out a questionnaire to ask a sample of 10 people
from our questionnaire as to what they thought of the initial storyline and 8/10
of the sample replied that they thought that the name “sacrifice” needed to be
changed as it sounded unprofessional and cheesy, this is something that we
wanted to address immediately as we did not want the film to be perceived as
anything less than a serious detective drama film.

Out of the 10 members of our sample all 5 of the male
participants and 3/5 female participants stated that they enjoy detective films
with the vast majority stating that they had previously seen other films such
as Sherlock Holmes.

The overall majority of the participants believed that the
film should be rated as a 15 as it is similar to other films of the same age
rating such as “
Sleepy Hollow”. We took
this feedback and decided to rate the film 15 to ensure that the majority of
our target demographic would be able to watch the film.
On our questionnaire to gain
feedback of the final cut of our film we asked the same 10 people to see if
they agreed with the changes that we had made to the storyline and to the the
title of the film. A staggering 7/10 of the recipients said that they were
pleasently surprised with the changes to the storyline including the plot twist
of Detective Les Strade killing the murder suspect instead of arresting him.
However the others thought that the changes had made the film unrealistic as a
real Police Officer would never do that and further stated that the integrity
of the film had been lost due.
