1999- Jake recieves a promotion after a year long case and thyen asigned to the murder case to a student which is linked to other murder cases thought to have satanic implications with no evidence he stuck on the case for 2 years.
2002- He gets a tip off of an old friend which leads him to finding a suspect out in the woods where he finds a man carrying a knife and arrests him after handcuffing him he finds the body of a girl and with frustration kills the man just as back up arrives he escapes a murder sentence but is fired.
2015- Jake recounts the case he was on to two detectives who have to present him with a case file of a murder of which is a replica of his previous case.
Elements which makes it unique, the use of non linear storyline with what happens to the protagonist in the opening. In our film there is a man suffering with alcoholism, it is not a representation of ordinary people, the character is going through a rough period.
