Seven (1995)
Cast: Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, Gwyneth Paltrow
Director: David Fincher
Plot summary: A soon to be retiring Detective Somerset (Freeman) is given a young new partner, a Detective David Mills (Pitt) who's first case together is finding the psychotic killer punishing individuals committing the seven deadly sins.
Review: Exceptionally gripping psychological crime drama with strong performances from the main cast, especially from Pitt and the chilling Spacey. Seven keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat throughout and the twist and the end is sure the leave them shocked and distraught. We will take great influence from the mood and feeling of this film and try and recreate the same tense atomsphere in our film.

Film 2:
The Dark Knight (2008)
Cast: Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman
Director: Christopher Nolan
Plot Summary: With the help of police lieutenant James Gordon (Oldman) and newly elected district attorney Harvey Dent (Eckhart), Batman (Bale) raises the stakes on his war on crime by setting out to dismantle the remaining mafia groups that plague the streets. The partnership proves effective, until the mob draw Batman into combat with a criminal lunatic known as "the Joker" (Ledger), whom he must stop from unleashing a reign of chaos that would plunge Gotham City into anarchy.
Review: Whilst not being your typical crime film. The Dark Knight is throughoughly engaging throughout thanks to its amazing cast, cleaver and instantly quotable writing and brilliant artistic direction, making a film about man dressed as a bat appeal to very wide demographic. Although we can't take much from this film in terms of plot influence it;s not a real world crime film, the dark tones of it is something we would love to try and bring to our film.
